The Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard: A Revisionist Review

I decided to give the final book in the series, War Storm, another chance. I couldn’t put it down, and now I have book hangover. I do have Broken Throne to look forward to. I think I’ll set it aside for a week so I don’t get burnout like I did from reading the series one book after another without break.

War storm had me alternately pumping my fist and devastated. Most of the characters of the book were morally grey. There were only a few who were only out for their own ends. And poor Mavin. I won’t give away any spoilers, but I felt the most for him, and the situation he was put in. I hated him in book three, but book four broke my heart.

I promise on Friday I will leave behind the world of The Red Queen and review something else. Although, the book I have just finished is a bit ambiguous and can at best be described as bittersweet, at worse a bit of a downer.

Happy Reading Y’all

P. S. If you, gentle reader, ever disagree with any of my reviews, just keep in mind that I’m a ho for the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I’ve read those thicc boys three times and will probably read them at least three more times should I live so long.
